Overview & Reviews
The Grand Prix underwent a redesign for 2004, but those familiar with the big sedan will find its blend of performance and comfort hasn't changed much.
- Strong supercharged V6, nimble handling, attractive gauges, easy-to-use controls, big trunk, fold-flat front-passenger seat.
- Build and materials quality still needs work, tight backseat, noisy engine, not enough storage or cupholders, no auto climate control.

2004 Grand Prix CompG - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix
By robtad - November 29 - 10:00 amThis CompG is definitely a car for the enthusiast like myself. Its fun to drive, fast and the handling is extremely precise and tight, yet not too stiff. They have completely eliminated body roll. I havent driven a car that handles this well since my 1970 Camaro Z28. Actually, the Grand Prix may even be better because of the MagnaSteer and Stabili-track! Im so glad I got the CompG package! I found the leather seats to be of good quality and comfortable especially with the side wings to help hold you in place.

By rsilverm - November 29 - 10:00 amWhat a wonderful car. GM hit the sweet spot as far as size, power, ride/handling and price.

Grand Prix - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix
By Jim - November 28 - 9:46 amThis is the second GP I have owned. Both have been excellent cars. I enjoy the performance of the car. There is always power when needed and the car handles well. I need a sedan for family purposes but this car also provides for me the feel of a sports car. I have had no mechanical problems with either of the GPs I have owned. The biggest complaint I have is with the factory tires. Neither GP got more than 25,000 miles from the factory sets.

Just What I Expected - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix
By Ratboyz - November 22 - 10:00 am1,200 miles and still loving my GTP. Just as I expected this baby really scoots and outperforms many imports I tested. I cant say enough about the comfort, style and performance of this car. I am happy with the decision to return to a domestic. If you are considering a Nissan, Acura, Beamer, etc. give this car a try first.

Dependable, sporty, but a little ho-hum too - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix
By fnash - November 5 - 11:55 pmI bought my GP GT2 used with about 32,000 miles on it and now have 115,000. I have not had to have any major service done on it, ever. I have had to replace normal wear and tear items like brake pads or rotors, and have oddball issues that occur still. The fuel pump seal is bad so when the car sits for a bit the fuel drains down the line. Turn the key to ON a couple of times before going to START and youre fine. Exhaust sound is outstanding, handling is great, and power is nice but a little lacking by todays standards. Fit and finish is OK but kind of bland and cheap looking. Overall though, an excellent purchase. Well worth the money.

Awesome - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix
By Zapote21 - November 3 - 10:00 amAfter months of looking at various vehicles, including imports, we settled on a Grand Prix. Best decision we ever made! Sporty, powerful, and great fun to drive. Anyone looking at ANY 4 door family sedan should take a long, hard, serious look at this vehicle. Beats any Honda, Toyota, Nissan offering out there.

Most bang for the Buck! - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix
By tjherber2 - October 28 - 2:00 amI shopped this vehicle and compared against the Nissian products and prices. It was an easy decision to pick the GP when GM is offering great incentives. Rebate, GM card points, dealer discount. When all said and done I saved 29.6% off MSRP. The GP isnt as refined as the Altima but at less then 18K this car offers the most "bang for the buck!" This is a small price to pay to sacrifice refinement which is over rated any way.

Lot of Car for the Money - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix
By RoadGuy - October 21 - 2:00 amI test drove both the GT1 and GT2 Grand Prix, but not the GTP. This offers a lot of power, a solid body structure and a firm, taut, sporty ride. However, there is a lot of FWD torque steer, and the car lack the directional stability that makes highway driving so effortless in the better imports. Very comfortable in front with power seats, but rear is too tight for kids over 12 yrs. Exterior styling and build are impressive, but tacky plastic dash, and ugly cloth seats on pre 1/1/04 production are a let down inside. Leather seats, free until 3/31/04 on GT2, dramatically "upscale" the interior and are the way to go.
